Conservatories

How much does a conservatory cost?

It can range from £10,000 to over £100,000 and will depend on the size and complexity of the project.

A simple uPVC conservatory that doesn’t require building work will fall into the lower end of this scale, while a bespoke timber open-plan extension will be on the higher end. With so many variations, it’s impossible to give an accurate price until design and materials have been chosen.

Is a conservatory worth the cost?

A conservatory can be a beautiful extension of your home which can be enjoyed all year round as well as an investment.

Research has shown that a conservatory can add around 7 per cent to a property’s value. A conservatory can also be a great solution for smaller homes looking for extra space easily and quickly without having to move.

What to consider when buying a conservatory?

It’s important to consider all of the materials and which one meets your requirements. A uPVC conservatory is low maintenance and offers great value while a timber conservatory has elegant natural looks and is naturally warm.

A conservatory is a large investment. Modern conservatories are more technically advanced than they have ever been before. You will also need to consider design, glazing options, roofs, material and it’s important to ask about foundations, as a conservatory is only as strong as its foundations and often planning permission is required.

What makes a good conservatory?

A good conservatory should be designed bespoke so it is made to measure for your home – this will keep your property looking attractive and the conservatory will look seamless.

It should also be structurally secure, with strong and stable frames, offering high security through locks, frames, glazing and hinges. It’s also important to consider the energy efficiency of the conservatory. The glazing should have low U values and maintain a comfortable temperate all year round so your conservatory can be warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Good ventilation in the summer months and heating the winter can also be necessary.

If you order more than one, the cost of making, delivering and installing gets cheaper, so we pass these savings onto you.

Doors

What does a new front door cost?

There is a huge amount of variables to consider when pricing a front door, including the type of door, material, design, colour and lock options you choose. We then need to measure up, as all our doors are bespoke and made-to-measure to fit your home perfectly. The price of a door is highly dependent on the quality and security features fitted, for example, a basic door may not meet the latest PAS24 security standards. We can recommend various options with you.

What makes a good door?

A good door should be aesthetically pleasing and fit into the overall look and feel of your property. What might suit a modern home won’t fit a country cottage. As the entrance to your home, it’s crucial to be secure with superior locking mechanisms and supported by a secure frame as well as stylish. We only make and install made-to-measure doors so it’s a perfect fit for your home, which will reduce draughts and remain firm during poor weather conditions and the overall humidity in the UK.
